New Rochelle called us before we called New Rochelle. A referral from a Yonkers client – her sister had just bought a house off Pelham Road and needed someone to do a move-in cleaning before the furniture showed up. That was probably 2014 or 2015. Since then we’ve built up enough clients in this city that we run at least one crew through New Rochelle five days a week. Westchester House Cleaning Service Co provides house cleaning, maid services, deep cleaning, and the rest of our full service list to homes and businesses here. Insured and locally run out of nearby Yonkers.
Not a bold claim. Just a fact based on years of driving these streets and cleaning these homes.
The North End is where a lot of our earliest New Rochelle clients were. Bigger properties. Colonial and Tudor homes on tree-lined streets with actual yards. Some of these houses haven’t been updated since the 1980s – brass fixtures, original tile, wallpapered bathrooms. Others have been gutted and modernized top to bottom. Both types need cleaning. Different cleaning, but still.
Residence Park and Rochelle Heights sit in the middle of the city and the middle of the housing spectrum. Three-bedroom ranches, split-levels, the occasional Cape Cod. Families with kids and dogs. The kind of homes where the kitchen sees real daily use and the bathroom grout starts losing the battle by year three.
Then there’s downtown, which barely resembles what it looked like ten years ago. New apartment towers. Mixed-use developments. The whole stretch near the train station has been rebuilt. We clean in several of those buildings now. Quick-turn apartments for young renters who want a biweekly maid service without thinking too hard about it.
Wykagyl, Quaker Ridge, Pinebrook – we’re in those areas too. Premium homes, bigger budgets, higher expectations. The cleaning has to be immaculate because the homes are. Simple as that.
Gonna level with you on something. Finding a decent house cleaning service in New Rochelle – or anywhere, really – is harder than it should be. The barrier to entry in this business is basically a bucket and a car. Anybody can post a listing online and start booking jobs tomorrow. Doesn’t mean they know what they’re doing. Doesn’t mean they’re insured. Doesn’t mean they’ll show up next week.
We’ve been at this long enough to outlast most of the operations that pop up and disappear within a year. Our house cleaners working in New Rochelle have been with us for years, not weeks. They carry insurance. They’ve been trained on surfaces, products, and how to move through a home without wasting time or missing spots. Boring stuff to talk about. Matters a lot when they’re inside your house.
The new developments near the station brought a wave of apartment clients our way. Renters in their late twenties and thirties, mostly. Commuting into the city. Getting home at 7 PM. Not interested in spending the next hour cleaning a bathroom.
Fair.
Most of these apartments are modern builds with similar layouts. Open kitchen into living area, one or two bedrooms, one bathroom, maybe a small balcony. Engineered hardwood or luxury vinyl flooring. Quartz counters. Stainless appliances. Clean lines that look great and show dirt immediately.
Biweekly apartment cleaning is the popular choice. Keeps the place from sliding without being overkill. Our crew handles the full unit in about ninety minutes to two hours. Done before you get home from work if you give us the access code. You walk in, the place is clean, nobody bothered you about it. That’s the arrangement and people seem to like it fine.
Recurring maid service works the same here as everywhere else we operate. Pick a frequency. We assign your crew. They come on the same day. They clean what we agreed they’d clean. Repeat.
Except – and this is specific to New Rochelle – we’ve noticed that clients in this city tend to start with biweekly and shift to weekly faster than average. Not sure exactly why. Maybe the commuter lifestyle leaves less energy for between-visit upkeep. Maybe the housing density in some neighborhoods means more foot traffic through smaller spaces. Whatever the reason, we see the pattern.
Doesn’t matter either way. Switching frequency takes a phone call. No forms, no penalty, no waiting period. Your maid service should match how you’re actually living right now, not how you were living when you booked three months ago.
Older homes in the North End and Residence Park build up grime in ways that newer construction doesn’t. Radiators with fins caked in dust. Window frames that have been painted shut for decades with dirt trapped in the seams. Original hardwood under furniture that hasn’t moved since the Clinton administration.
Deep cleaning handles all of that in a single visit. We come in with extra time, extra crew, and the right products for whatever surfaces your home has. Afterward, if you want to start regular service, the maintenance is easier because we’ve already stripped away the layers.
New construction needs deep cleaning too, just for different reasons. Post-construction dust. That fine silica powder that settles into every crevice and drawer during a renovation. We’ve done a bunch of these in the downtown redevelopment area over the past couple of years. Developers and buyers both call us.
We’re based in Yonkers, right next door. New Rochelle scheduling is usually same-week, sometimes next-day depending on the calendar.
Not random people dispatched from somewhere far away. Our New Rochelle crews work in this city regularly and know the buildings, the parking situations, and the neighborhoods.
Rental market here is active. Always has been, but the new apartment construction downtown accelerated everything. Leases turn over. Condos sell. Houses close. All of them need cleaning at the transition point.
Tenants call us to get their deposit back. Landlords call us to prep units. Buyers call us because they don’t trust whatever the previous owner’s version of “clean” was. We handle each of those on tight timelines because that’s the nature of real estate – everything is urgent and nobody planned for the cleaning until the last minute.
Had a closing in New Rochelle last spring where the seller’s agent called us at 4 PM on a Thursday asking if we could clean a three-bedroom house before a walkthrough Saturday morning. We fit it in Friday. The walkthrough went fine. Agent saved our number after that.
Main Street and North Avenue have a steady mix of small businesses, professional offices, and retail. We clean several of them. Nothing flashy to report about it – just consistent after-hours visits, clean spaces by morning, and invoices that match the quotes.
Medical and dental practices in New Rochelle can book our healthcare-specific cleaning service with EPA-registered disinfectants and proper protocols. We already service a few practices in the area.
